BANK NURSE (NIGHTS) / £19-20 PER HOUR / SMETHWICK

Brookes are currently working with a Smethwick based Nursing home who are looking for two Nurses to Join their Bank Staff Team

During the Christmas period they will be offering 2 Nurses 3-4 shifts a week and afterwards, during another staff members Maternity Leave, they will be offering 1 nurse 3 shifts a week. After that will only be offering shifts to cover sickness/annual leave.

The Role:

  • Covering ad hoc and last minute shifts
  • performing nurse duties on shift
  • Shift time: 7.30pm till 7am
  • Assisting Management as and when needed
  • Managing Medication
  • Completing Assessment’s and Personalised
  • Leading a Care Team
  • Coordinating Multi-disciplinary teams

British Sign Language Support Worker – Handsworth, Birmingham – £14 per hour 

Shift Patterns: Days – 40 hour a week contract

Information about the Role: 

Working as a British Sign Language Support Worker your duties will include the following:

  • Providing physical support which may include helping with household tasks and personal care to a variety of service users including deaf or hard of hearing service users.
  • Communicating in British Sign Language
  • Maintain the hygiene, dignity, health, and safety of service users at all times.
  • Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Teaching life skills, such as shopping, using public transport and paying for bills.
  • Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all care needs meet the highest possible standards.
  • Assist in the design and administration of an evaluation of the care standards and care service provision.
  • If applicable, assist in the administration of medication.

Necessary Experience or Qualifications: 

  • Native signers and/or people with British Sign Language level 2 or above who are competent signers who can support and communicate with deaf adult’s.
  • Someone who has a real passion for caring and helping people.
  • Ideally 6-months experience of working as a British Sign Language Support Worker.
  • Ability to work on shift/rota pattern.
  • Have the right to the work in the UK.

As such, we are looking for experienced Support Workers to join the New Opening team for both day and night cover – this is a fantastic opportunity to join a team from the very beginning and truly make a difference in the life of Vulnerable Adults with Complex Needs

The Role:

  • Assisting with providing a needs-led service in keeping with the aims and objectives of the service.
  • Participating and assisting with defined care plans encouraging individuals to take an active role in all aspects of daily living.
  • Attending training on topics which relates to behaviour support and autism spectrum conditions (ASC).
  • Work flexible hours as required by the organisation including weekend, Bank Holidays, sleep-in and night duty as required.
  • Cover staffing shortfalls and special events such as holidays.
  • Assist in reviewing service users and their behaviours, taking on the role of key worker to either individual or group of Service Users.
  • Undertake other duties from time to time as required by the Manager of the Service
  • Maintain customer confidentiality in accordance with our data protection policy and procedure.

We offer a 24/7 out of hours on call service to support the needs of any business. We can help with the supply of one off or occasional cover. We also offer a service where we can fully facilitate the co-ordination of all staffing requirements regardless of volume.

We only recruit a high calibre workforce who undergo our rigorous registration process. Candidates are required to attend an interview to complete an application pack which includes, a DBS check and two written reference checks, a competency questionnaire and screening questions.

Nursing staff are verified by the NMC. You should feel safe in the knowledge that we would never supply a member of staff who is not fully compliant with current legislation. We provide mandatory training and ensure staff are continually updating their training portfolio. All checks are completed before a candidate is offered work – giving you the client complete peace of mind
